The twelfth “International Ottoman Istanbul Symposium” will be held on May 16-17, 2026 at Istanbul 29 May University, Ümraniye Elmalıkent Main Campus.
The aim of the symposium, which focuses on Istanbul during the Ottoman Empire period, is to shed light on the historical, social, cultural and economic development of the city; to determine under what conditions it transformed into an Ottoman city; and to bring together researchers working on Istanbul, which has become a world metropolis today, and to provide an interdisciplinary discussion and sharing platform.
